Bill Belleville gives a compelling presentation on identifying our water-driven natural landscapes in Florida. He does so by helping us understand how other writers and artists have been inspired by them over time. In doing so, Belleville also helps us understand the threats to these diverse natural systems from Florida’s unbridled sprawl. He uses vivid photographic images from above and below our magical springs, our characteristic “scrub” and sandhill – that help “recharge” our springs – and related habitats that have historically helped us acknowledge our singular “sense of place”.
