April 5 - Keep St. Pete Special: Sunken Gardens
Sunken Gardens, 1825 Fourth Street North, St. Petersburg, FL
5:30 pm

Sunken Gardens has a long history as one of Florida's few remaining "roadside" attractions. Its Mediterranean Revival styled building dates to 1926 and in the 1940's it was the local coca cola bottling plant. In the early 1920's, George Turner, who started the gardens, was charging a nickel for tours!  Times change and in 1999 city voters agreed to purchase Sunken Gardens. Today, it continues to entertain and to educate residents and tourists under city direction.

Join SPP for an evening at the Gardens, including the "nickel" tour and an update on recent, ongoing and future plans for restoring and maintaining Sunken Gardens. And you will get to see the Flamingo flock!

Reception with cash (donation) bar will precede the program along with some good cheer and fun!
