The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is a day to celebrate the life and dream of Martin Luther King, Jr. A day when people of all races, religions, classes, and stations in life put aside their differences and join in a spirit of togetherness. The first MLK Celebration took place in St. Petersburg in 1986, historically beginning in the Gas Plant area. The parade route has changed numerous times over the years but this year, the MLK “DREAM BIG” Parade route starts on 1st Avenue South at 3rd Street, proceeds west to 16th Street, turns left on 16th Street and marches south to 3rd Avenue South, disbanding near Tropicana Field, Lot 1. Please join the City of St. Petersburg and Advantage Village Academy for this year’s MLK “DREAM BIG” Parade on January 15 at 11 a.m. followed by the MLK Family Fun Day Festival!
