Do you know that you can collect 300 gallons of water from 1,000 square feet of roof during a 1/2” rain? You're invited to join the Water Resources Department at a Rainwater Guardian Workshop to learn about:
- Reducing your use of potable (drinking) water for lawn and garden irrigation
- How rainwater harvesting helps protect local waterways and the environment
- Rain barrel setup, use and maintenance
- Creating shallow rain gardens that are attractive and functional
Free rain barrels are available to St. Petersburg utility customers who attend a workshop, limited to one per property per year. Workshops are free and pre-registration is required for attendance. Register for an upcoming workshop below to reserve a spot.
Bring a vehicle that can accommodate a 3' tall and 22" diameter barrel. Barrels will be available for pickup only during the workshop date. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to find parking and seating before the program begins. Classes and events may be canceled at any time due to low registration or other circumstances.
